"Hello?" she asked into the mouthpiece of her phone.

"Hello, is this Autumn Crane?"

"Yes it is."

"Hi Autumn, I'm Greg from KQQR, 97.5 and I see you've applied for a job here."

'YES! AND TELL ME MORE DAMN IT!' is what she wanted to say. Instead, she simply said, "Yes."

"Well, we've narrowed the applicants down and we would like to interview you. Is tomorrow okay?"

"Yeah, sure."

"About 1:00?"

"Perfect."

"Great, I'll see you then."

"Yes." They hung up. She started running around screaming like a maniac. She jumped onto her bed and started jumping up and down on it until she hit her head on the ceiling. "AW GOD DAMN IT!" she cursed. "That fuckin hurt," she said to herself, rubbing her head.

"Hi, Autumn," he said her name, almost as a question.

"Yep, that's me."

"If you'd like to follow me, I'll take you to the interview room."

"All right." They walked down a long corridor, about as long as building itself, and entered a small, dimly lit room.

"You can have a seat there." She sat down, it was warm from the last interviewee. Yuck. She hated that.

"So Autumn, why do you think you should have the job here a KQQR?"

"Well," she started, "Music is practically my whole life. As you can tell by major, I'm studying music and have sung since I knew how to talk. I played the keyboard as soon as I grew tall enough to see the keys. I've also taken guitar lessons for a few years."

"Yeah, you have the music part down. What about your personality? What do you think you have that other people don't?"

"Ooo, that's tough." He just smiled. "Well, I can get along with a lot of people (*God, don't sound so goddamn conceded woman!!!*) so most people should like to listen to me. I'd say I have a pretty good sense of humor, and I love a good joke. I figure if you get them smiling
in the morning, they'll smile all day. (*God that was gay!*)

"All right. If you've been listen to us today, weve been giving our interviewees a chance at the mike...you have been listening, haven't you?"

"Actually, I've been in classes all day," she said with a sheepish look.

"Aw, that's okay. So what do you say?"

"I say awesome."

"Great. If you'd just follow me again, I'll take you to the sound booth."

"Okay." They went to the other side of the hallway, just a little bit backtracking. A DJ was in there and when they opened the door, the interviewer knocked on the glass and he motioned for them to come in. They walked through another doorway into the room where the DJ was sitting.

"Okay Orlando, we've got another interviewee to audition today. You know what to do....tell us what you think of her. Call us at 683-9672 or toll free at 1-800-876-KQQR," the DJ said. He played a song and went off the air. He spun around in his chair and introduced himself.
"Hi, Im James, and you are?"

"Autumn, Autumn Crane," she said, shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you Autumn. Think you're ready for your 30 seconds of fame?"

"Oh yeah."
